Play As A Learning Medium - Play is a developmentally appropriate learning medium for all young children. Four to five days a week the children have an opportunity to participate in centers, also known as play. The centers are free choice. The children can come and go to any center they choose and play there as long as they would like within the allocated center time. There are standard centers that are always available and there are centers that enrich something we are learning through direct instruction. Below you will find pictures of what the children are doing during centers. Under each picture I linked the Pennsylvania State Standards to the experiences the children had. There is also a short summary about what the children were doing. Check back periodically for new play experiences!
